The Metallic tunnel is located at an elevation of 9,250 feet on the western slope of Rhyolite Mountain. It is 1,000 feet long and reported to be entirely in granite. Farther north on Bernhard Creek some prospecting operations have been carried on along phonolite dikes in granite.
