The shaft is to be sunk an additional 250 ft. to the 950-ft. level and arrangements made to cross-cut the ground on the level of the Roosevelt deep-drainage tunnel, at about 1700 feet.

Denver, Colo.—A rich body of ore that runs from $40 to $400 per ton has been opened up by John Sharpe and associates, lessees, in the CarbondaleCarbonate Queen at Cripple Creek. The streak was disclosed at a depth of 500 feet. It is about three feet wide and assays indicate average gold values above $60 per ton.
