The Phoenix Mining Co., C. W. Howbert manager, is retimbering the Conundrum incline where shaft-timbers were burned out recently. The timbers were destroyed to a depth of 200 ft. below the collar.
The incline is 1500 ft. deep vertically. This is the deepest working on Gold hill.
