The Foley shaft on the Keystone claim of the Mint Con. M. Co. on Gold Hill, Cripple Creek, will be lowered to depth of 1000 feet.
The shaft is 742 feet deep and from a few of the levels mineral is being daily broken by lessees.

CONTRACT LET.
A contract has been let to A.H. Lefler to sink 100 feet on the Keystone property. The shaft will be sunk about 200 feet north of the old workings.
The property is under lease to some Denver people for a term of two years.

SUIT FILED.
Miles McDonald, through his attorney, Captain D.P. Howard, filed suit yesterday afternoon against the Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek Railroad for $10,000 damages and an injunction restraining the defendent and company from prosecuting its construction operation upon his property.
The complaint reckons that the plaintiff is the owner of the Keystone lode and has been in undisputed possession of this property until interferred with by the defendant.
That on or before November 9, 1899, the said defendants entered upon the said Keystone lode and began the construction of a right-of-way across the claim for its main line of railroad and has assumed to occopy and possess the same or as much of it as is necessary for their purpose without any right what-ever and without the sanction or consent and against the wishes of the plaintiff.

Metz, Armstrong and Mitchell have 3,5 feet of pay at the 110-foot level in the Keystone on Gold Hill. The lessees are certainly entitled to all they have, for they took the property after it had been condemned by some of the best miners in the district.
It takes nerve when it comes to mining, and that is what the present lessees have.

Mitchell, Dongen, Metz and Armstrong, who are leasing on the Keystone on Gold Hill, made a good-sized shipment yesterday. There seems to be no doubt now but that they have found the long-lost vein on that property.
The ore is very good, and there is from three to four feet of it.

PERMANENT SHIPPER.

Keystone Begins to Look as If It Had Come to Stay.
There is a good prospect that the Keystone, on which ore was recently opened up by lessees, will continue permanently in the ranks of the shippers.
Yesterday Cronin and Sharbaro [Spelling?], the lessees, sent out 25 tons of a grade which is expected to run $50 per ton. They are working on the chute at a depth of 150 feet, and have their chute opened up so that they can the average weekly production reach 10 tons.

Propert is Now Outputting Ore in Carloads Lots Which Runs $40.

Cone and associates, who have been making small shipments from the Keystone for some time past, have just received returns from a lot of 20 tons. The grade of the ore was $40 per ton.
The prospect is that the Keystone will from this time forth hold its place among the regular producers.

The lessees on the Keystone on Gold Hill are getting out several tons of ore daily from the old workings. This ore is coming from the 60 and 80-foot levels.
Three different sets of lessees have worked the mine since the mineral was opened up, but for some unknown reason it was overlooked. Whether it will continue in the lower levels is still an unsolved problem.
As far down as 250 feet crosscuts have been run in every direction without finding pay rock.

THE OLD CHUTE.
Lessees on the Keystone Have Ore In the Old Shaft.
Cronin and company, leasing on the Keystone, on the lower end of Gold Hill, yesterday made a shipment of ten tons of ore estimated to be good for $40 a ton. The strike is not exactly a new one, as it was made in the old workings, and had been overlooked by former operators.
The old shaft is 150 feet deep, but the lessees went back to the 60-foot level and begun a drift which resulted in the find.
