Colorado Boss—From a new vein opened in this mine, a car of ore has been shipped, which yielded between $50 and $60 per ton. The low-grade ore in the vein is said to average about $20 per ton.

Colorado Boss—A rich strike of gold telluride has been made on this property on the west slope of Gold hill, Cripple Creek. Shipments will be made soon. Melvin Rapp is the lessee and manager.

The strike reported some time back made in the Colorado Boss property, on the south slope of Gold hill by J. Rose Lewis, has been opened up to an extent that it is now known to be one of the largest ore shoots that has been found in this camp this year.

VICTOR.—A two-carload shipment of two and a half-ounce screenings was consigned by the Humphries-Thompson Leasing Company from the Peggy shaft in Anaconda. The ore was blocked out from the large ore shoot being followed north of the shafts on the 400-foot level.
Some of the mineral is coming from the Colorado Boss, on which the concern also operates.

Cripple Creek.—The Peggy Leasing Company, working on the Peggy claim at a depth of 300 ft., is shipping 3-oz. ore at the rate of 12 cars per month. The company has a 5-ft. ore body, some of which runs as high as 4 ounces.
This concern is also operating the Morning Glory and the Colorado Boss properties.

Colorado Springs, Col., Feb. 24.—The John Sharp lease on the Cripple Creek Consolidated property on RavenGold Hill is proving to be one of the greatest little producers in the entire District.

The physical conditions of the mine is showing steady improvement and considerable ore is being blocked out all the time by the operator. From this lease alone the income that is going into the treasury of the Cripple Creek company in royalties amounts to over $5,000 a month, so it is readily seen what the lessee is making for himself.

Lessee John Sharp leasing on the Colorado Boss, No. 3 and Morning Glory, No. 4 claims, has been saving up a carload shipment for some time which will leave the property next week, and from all accounts should net the operators very close to $40,000 for the carload.

Colorado Springs, Jan. 5.—An entirely new ore body, carrying high-grade values all the way across the breast and already proven for a distance of 20 feet in length, has been encountered in the 400-foot level of the Colorado Boss property, belonging to the Cripple Creek Consolidated Company.
The lucky find was made by Lessee John Sharp, who was working under lease a large block of the property and who has already completed enough development work to prove the permancy of the ore shoot.

The entire mass of rock being broken is hoisted and shipped without sorting, and returns values of $100 to the ton, which is a remarkable figure for such a large body of ore. Considerable sylvanite shows throughout the rock, and if it was closely sorted most any kind of a grade could be secured.
The full extent of the find will not be known for some time, as at present both walls of the drift are in ore.

An important strike is reported to have been made recently on Gold hill by the Cripple Creek Consolidated Mining Company.
The ore is said to be rich tellurides.

Word came to the city yesterday by Mrs. M. Sullivan, that Charley Brown had been killed while at work in Cripple Creek. No particulars could be secured but it was said that he had been killed by a falling bucket in the Colorado Boss shaft.
Charley was well known here having resided in Aspen many years. He left here some years ago for Cripple Creek and has resided there ever since.

VIGOROUS WORK.
Vigorous work is being performed in the company workings of the Colorado Boss claim on Gold hill. A cross-cut is being driven for the basalt dyke that runs across the claim and no sinking will be done until it is encountered.
