Tunnel Mining and Leasing Co. Working 4 Shafts at 3 Lodes
Colorado Springs, Nov. 16.—The Tunnel Mining and Leasing Company, operating the Abe Lincoln Mine in Poverty Gulch under lease, will commence sinking a shaft to-morrow morning another 100 feet, starting from the 600-foot point.
This company is sinking different shafts—two on the Lincoln, one on the Arcadia and one on Granite Hill. However, the four properties are being operated by three plants of machinery.
The company is treating in the neighborhood of 80 tons of dump rock each day through a huge washing machine, the greatest values showing in the slimes. Besides this treatment it sends out in the neighborhood of 30 tons of ore per day that runs about $30 to the ton.
