Callie Lease Said to Be in Bonanza
Denver Post.
Now the lease on the Callie, located on the south slope of Gold hill, just east from the Mary McKinney, is said to be in bonanza where the vein was cut by the Ophelia tunnel.
W.S. Stratton owns the ground and the lease will undoubtedly be transferred to him for a large consideration, as negotiations are now pending and makes it reasonably certain that no outsider will be able to buy the lease.
The price to be paid will be very large for a mere lease, but there being from 6 to 10 feet of smelting ore in the ground where cut by the tunnel, the lease is worth considerable money.
