Info Title:
Bourse Mining Co. Inquiry
Bourse Mining Co.

5037. (Newark, N. J.) What is your opinion of the Bourse Mining Co., whose stock is offered by Lincoln, Lawrence & Co., of your city? The officers are all in Denver. Is the proposition a good one?

Ans.: The property of this company is on the very border line of the recognized Cripple Creek ore producing district, and has, as yet, no sufficient development work done to prove whether it is likely to be mineral bearing. Our Colorado correspondent reports that the officers of the company in Denver are quite reputable citizens, but the president and vice president do not seem to know much about the company or its property.

He has not been able to meet with the secretary and treasurer, who seems mostly to attend to the company's affairs.

The property of the company consists of two claims, viz., La Fama, survey No. 13,45013,250 and the Two Nymphs, survey No. 13,85013,250. These two claims, however, according to the latest map of the Cripple Creek district (on which the figures of the survey numbers are not very clear or distinct) are practically entirely overlapped by older claims belonging to other people, viz., the Little Allie, survey No. 8256; Two Earls, survey No. 82508256; Good Luck, survey No. 82558256; Tom Patterson, survey No. 88568256; Bell of Shandon, survey No. 10,76310,702; North Star, survey No. 8677; and Lee, survey No. 8407.

In view of the above information the proposition does not seem a very attractive one to us.
