Info Title:
Santa Rosa Mining Co. Inquiry
Santa Rosa Mining Co.

3462. (Boston, Mass.) What is the condition of the Santa Rosa Mining Company, of Cripple Creek, and is its mine being pushed towards a profitable basis?

Ans.: We are informed that the property of the Santa Rosa Mining Company is at present inactive, but the company expects to develop it through the medium of lessees, as soon as the patent work is completed. The capitalization of the company is $1,250,000, shares being of the par value of $1.

It is officered by R. P. Davie, president; L. A. Keys, vice-president; and F. H. Pettingell, secretary and treasurer.

The company's properties are eight in number and located in different localities, but all embraced in the Cripple Creek mining district. They own by United States patent;

the Santa Rosa claim, located east of the Victor mine, embracing an acreage of 6,575;

the Lulu S. claim, located a short distance east of the famous Independence mine of Cripple Creek, and embracing 5.46 acres;

also owns, by United States land office receivers' receipt (which practically means patent);

the Mary Brown and Louis Beck No. 1 lodes, containing 14.151 acres, located a short distance south of the town of Victor;

also the Belle City lode, located on Guyot Hill, in the Cripple Creek district. This claim includes 1,490 acres and the company has an agreement for a portion of the Robert H. claim, which will increase the area of the property.

The company also owns, by United States Land Office receivers' receipt, the Deer Trail and Louis Beck No. 2 lodes, containing an acreage of 19,922, making a total acreage which the company is assured of something in excess of 47 acres of promising territory.

The company is now re-surveying for United States patent, the Hillside claim, located east of the Victor mine. This will add materially to its possessions, the amount of acreage to be secured through this medium.
