This view shows a favorite angle of photographs showing of this area, while this particular angle and spot is not that often used. You see several mines here, from the Ajax near upper left to the Independence Mine hiding much of behind the dumps at left to the Portland Nos. 1 & 2 way up on the hill at the right hand side, No. 2 being at the top of the hill.

You also see some houses in the foreground, other images has said they where the home of W.S. Stratton when in the area, and the fill behind those houses belongs to the combined High Line and Short Line grade into Victor, having just crossed over the F. & C.C. track, also heading into Victor outside the view at left.
