Black Diamond Lessees Preparing Large Production
On the Black Diamond claim on Womack hill, under lease to Doepke & Co., extensive development work is in progress on a vein opened recently. Driving on the vein was started from the bottom of the 140-ft. shaft. At present assays indicate that the ore will average 3 oz. per ton for a width of 2½ ft. across the vein.
The lessees are rapidly preparing to start a big production. A large body of low-grade oxidized ore, the extent of which has not been ascertained, will be explored. Assays taken from time to time seem to indicate that the whole dike will run about $7 per ton.

Sangre de Cristo Tunnel in Promising Vein
A promising ore-shoot has been opened on the south-western slope of Tenderfoot hill by the Heaton Leasing Co., operating in the Sangre de Cristo tunnel. The vein, new to the property, has been opened by drift for about 25 to 30 ft., between two and three feet of ore sampling two to five ounces gold per ton.
The vein was cut while extending the tunnel to cut the Black Diamond vein, that has been producing high-grade ore from shallow workings.
