    Located in the south 500 feet of the Sunny Side Lode, which the Good Will Tunnel & Mining Co. owned, this tunnel was first started by Mr. W. Weston, M. E., in 1895. Later on, working capital was secured by the sale of treasury stock and the tunnel was driven 1,860 feet, just entering the outer edge of the main auriferous area of the Cripple Creek district. In the autumn of 1899 further working capital was obtained sufficient to drive the tunnel to the Lexington mine and the Anchoria Leland property, a total distance of 3,000 feet. By April 4, 1900, the tunnel was still in at 1860 feet, but by January 1901 it is reported in a source to have been made 3000 feet.

If any valuable ores were cut the tunnel company would work them under the terms of the leases from the companies owning the ground through which it passed.
