5465. (Troy, N. Y.) Will you please give me some information about the following named company, and the value of its stock: 80 shares Gold Dollar Mining Co., $1 each; certificate dated Jan. 24th, 1894, W. D. Miller, president; H. A. Kirkhan, assistant treasurer; dated New York, Farmers' Loan & Trust Co., New York, registrar; incorporated under the laws of Colorado?
Ans.: This company was listed with the Colorado Springs mining stock exchange on Oct. 25, 1900, and the following information then recorded. The company was incorporated Sept. 15, 1893, and amended Oct. 25. 1895, increasing capitalization from 700,000 $1 shares to two million $1 shares. Cash in the treasury, $10,000; stock, none.
The company owns 7½ acres, patented, on Beacon Hill, Cripple Creek, being a part of the Arequa town site. The surface improvements consist of shaft house 35 by 65 feet, six by eight feet hoist, one 50 horse power boiler, compressor room, blacksmith's shop, 100-ton ore house, other small out houses.
Development, about 3,000 feet of drifts and cross-cuts, 1,300 feet of tunnel work, about 600 feet of shaft work. Cost of development about $65,000. Proposed development: 32 men are now employed and the property will be worked to its fullest capacity, bonds and leases, none; liabilities, none; gross production to date, over $300,000; gross production last 12 months, $49,500.
The 80 shares above referred to apparently are part of the original $700,000 capitalization. We cannot state their probable value. The stock of the new capitalization is quoted at about 19 cents.

Beacon Hill Development Co. Developing Its Gold Dollar Lease
Cripple Creek—The Beacon Hill Development Co., lessees of the property of the Gold Dollar Mining Co., are developing the large ore body opened on the property during the last year. A flat vein between two vertical veins has been cut, the ore body averaging 70 ft. in width.
The company has crosscut the entire width of the shoot and has also drifted on it for a distance of over 150 ft. The vein has an average thickness of 5 ft. and carries from 1 to 4 ozs. of gold to the ton. No attempt has been made at large production because of lack of room, but a big tonnage will be maintained this month.
In June 22 cars of $30 ore were shipped. The screenings and coarse rock runs respectively $40 and $25 to the ton. There is over 300 tons broken in the stope.

Union Leasing Co. Gold Dollar Strike Improves
The strike made several, weeks ago by the Union Leasing Co. in the Gold Dollar property on Beacon hill is improving. The vein, an entirely new one, which was encountered west of the shaft at a depth of 550 feet, has widened to four and a half feet with values averaging $45 all the way across.
This rich seam, carrying 50 ozs. gold a ton, still appears in the vein, but is too narrow to permit sorting, and the ore is shipped as broken from the shoot.
The regular shipments are of 3, 4 and 5 oz. ore, while an occasional consignment of high grade, in sacks, is made from the property. The Gold Dollar holdings are in better shape than ever before and the mine is among the large producers of Beacon hill.

Gold Dollar Consolidated Mining Co. Annual Report Tiny Abstract
Denver, Aug. 5—The Gold Dollar Consolidated Mining Company has just issued its annual report. Instead of declaring two 1c. dividends during the last 12 months, as might have been done, the mine was developed, new houses were built and machinery purchased, at a cost of $20,000.
This equipment will enable the company to sink to the 2000-ft. level, and to operate at that level when necessary. A result of the development done by leasers and by the company, was an important strike of ore near the 800-ft. level, from which a trial shipment is now being prepared.
The shoot was cut about 150 ft. north of the main shaft. A winze was sunk from the eighth level at a point 100 ft. north of the shaft, and this winze is 100 ft. deep.

Gold Dollar Mine Talks
Lyman B. Goff, owner of the Gold Dollar mine, makes the following statement: "I am not yet realizing large profits but I have unlimited faith that they will come to pass in the near future. I believe the Gold Dollar on Beacon hill, near the Prince Albert, will prove to be one of the richest mines in the world. Before the water flooded it we were taking out ore that astonished everybody with its richness and output to the ton. I any now driving a tunnel at an expense of $10,000 and hope to be in running order early in the spring. I have worked from the top and so I know how rich the veins are. We are down 500 feet and will go 300 more. I am the principal owner of the Gold Dollar, and also of the Cripple Creek Gold Mining company. These mines were at one time known as the Kohyno and Cripple Creek mines, and were fully as rich as the Independence, and in as good a neighborhood."
