Joe Dandy Property Sold
Colorado Springs, Nov. 9.—J. M. Wright, the well-known lessee who took out a fortune from the Thompson, of the Elkton Consolidated Company, has closed a deal for the Joe Dandy Gold Mining Company's property, on Raven Hill, and made the first payment on the purchase price of $125,000. The final transfer will be made on November 15.
The main shaft on the Joe Dandy has been sunk to a depth of 550 feet, and is well equipped with mine buildings, a large ore house, with a storage capacity of 250 tons, and a fine plant of hoisting machinery, including boilers and a compressor.
The gross production of the mine from 1896 to date has been $213,669.31, leaving a handsome profit for the owners.

Joe Dandy in Wonderful Ore
Colorado Springs, Jan. 18.—The new ore body which was recently discovered in the first level of the Jo Dandy mine on Raven Hill is proving to be a wonder. The face of the body now shows from eight to 12 feet in width and indicates that it will average around four ounces to the ton.
The ore shoot has never been opened above the point of finding and it has already added thousands of dollars to the value of the property that was quite recently purchased by J. M. Wright, of Cripple Creek for the sum of $100,000, and on which a few days later he refused a bonus of $50,000 for his purchase.
The new owner has now installed a large washing machine in the ore house and it is his intention to wash every pound of ore that is raised from the mine. It will be only a few days now until he is sending out a large production of ore, as he is adding daily to his force of miners.

Joe Dandy Mine During 1904
On the summit of Raven Hill, the Joe Dandy, which changed hands in the early winter, has been thoroughly sampled and overhauled by the new owners; as the result of a vigorous policy of development, it has revealed important ore resources from points near the surface to a depth of nearly 600 feet.
Much of this is comparatively low grade and is being locally treated, but in the process of its extraction higher grade streaks are being saved separately, which make a smelting product returning $100 or more per ton.

Wide Ore Shoot in Joe Dandy
Jo Dandy—In the 280-foot level on this property, James Wright is breaking a vein 103 feet in width, which is said to be the widest ore shoot in the entire district. Timbering with square sets is necessary as fast as stoping progresses.
Mr. Wright estimates that he is able to ship fully one-half of the ore broken, and that a small streak from ten to eighteen inches wide will yield exceptionally high values.

Joe Dandy to Resume Work
Work will be resumed in the Jo Dandy mine, on Raven hill. The mine was closed down three months ago when an option on control of the stock was given Eastern capitalists.
The option will expire April 1. Meantime experts are expected from the East to examine the mine and report to holders of the option. It is said that the option price is $400,000.
The value of the mine has been enhanced through consolidation with the New Haven, which was done to avoid litigation over the main ore body on the side line.

Main Jo Dandy Vein Exposed
It will be remembered that litigation between the New Haven Gold Mining Co. and the Jo Dandy Mining Co. was threatened and commenced over extra lateral rights, when a compromise was effected and the Eclipse No. 1 lode mining claim was acquired by the Jo Dandy Mining Co.
Prospecting near to the dividing line between the two claims, Manager James Wright has exposed the main Jo Dandy vein, and the mine samples taken across fully 5 ft. of ore have returned values of from $18.29 to $42.20 to the ton.

Jo Dandy Happenings
Austin Holman, former superintendent of the Golden Cycle mine, has been examining the Jo Dandy mine location on Raven hill for the president of that company, J. M. Wright.
The two new shoots of ore are said to be the best that have been found anywhere in the district in the last few months. James Peabody, former governor, who has the main lease on the Dandy, and who is working on the 550-ft. level of that property, has opened an ore shoot about 35 ft. and the values are said to be of a grade better than the mill run.
The leading strike has been made on the 300-ft. level by Sub-Lessees Charles Bell and Alex McNeil, who have opened up about 40 ft. of ore that will run in the neighborhood of $25 a ton without sorting.
