The production from the Vindicator or September was close to 1,800 tons of ore. All of this was of good grade as it has been the policy of the company to refrain from mining any low grade rock for some time past. The production was not in excess of former months, but in value was much higher than heretofore. Vindicator Gold Mining Company.—The stockholders at their annual meeting elected these directors: F. L. Seigel, president; F. J. Campbell, secretary and general manager; G. S. Wood, vice-president; A. J. Zang, treasurer.

Strike Situation Can Close the Vindicator Mine
The situation is somewhat improved, but not yet settled. A number of concessions have been made by both sides. At present it seems as though the strike at the Standard mill would be settled, as all the demands of the union men at the mill have been met with, except as to the reinstatement of some of the striking mill men. If the trouble is not settled very soon a number of mines will have to close from having no marked for their ore.

Good ore is being shipped by D. Whitney and J. McMullin from their lease on the 800-ft. level of No. 2 shaft of the Vindicator, on Bull hill. A new orebody has recently been opened up in a raise between the 700 and 800-ft. levels. The ore is being stoped by three machines for an average width of 3½ ft., the screening from which runs in the neighborhood of $30, and the bulk ore from $50 to $80 per ton. On the 500-ft. level ore is also being broken by one machine from a vein five feet wide.

Vindicator Mine Stuff in 1908
The Vindicator mine has been one of the large producers of the camp and, at present, is worked almost entirely by lessees. Some of the richest ore found in Cripple Greek has been taken from this property, and many of the lessees have done exceptionally well. I consider it will be a steady shipper for many years yet, with possibilities of opening up additional orebodies under the leasing system. The main ore-shoots have been worked out, but much good territory remains undeveloped.

Vindicator Consolidated Co. Workings
The Vindicator Consolidated company is extending a lateral north-west from the 19th level of the Golden Cycle shaft, corresponding to what will be the 20th level of the Vindicator No. 2. The objective is the present terminal point of the Roosevelt deep-drainage tunnel, some 3000 ft. distant. Negotiations looking to extension of the tunnel are under way, but no agreement has as yet been reached.
graphic for visual presentation of text The Vindicator is now raising water from the Golden Cycle, but with the tunnel-connection completed this heavy cost will be eliminated. Development of the rich shoot on the Lillie vein at the 2000-ft depth on the Vindicator continues from the Cycle cross-cut, and, with the raise through to the Vindicator shaft, sinking will be started in ore as the rich vein extends to the shaft station.
graphic for visual presentation of text The extension of the tunnel rests with other companies owning property in the Bull Hill area, who are expected to contribute to the general cost, estimated at $80,000. The Vindicator company, however, will extend the deep lateral to its end-line at its own expense.

The Vindicator Consolidated Gold Mining Co. is now cutting a station at 2100 ft. at the Vindicator No. 2 or main shaft, preparatory to cross-cutting west to the Lillie vein, that should be penetrated at a point about 30 ft. west.
