Cripple Creek.—Superintendent James McIlwee for the Con. Copper Creek Mining & Milling Co., operating the Delmonico, is moving a 40-h.p. boiler from the Lillie shaft to his property. This will greatly increase the capacity of the plant.

Colorado Springs, Aug. 10, 1904. The old Lily shaft on Bull Hill is to be used for hoisting the water in that section of the district and with that purpose the Vindicator Consolidated Gold Mining Company has purchased the property which is a near neighbor.
The price paid is to be $30,000, of which the new purchasers have already paid $5,000, and the balance will be over as soon as the deeds are made out.

Vost, Bell & Lemci, leasing the Lillie shaft of the Vindicator estate on Bull hill and working at a depth of 150 ft. by windlass, have opened fine ore.

Mining Reporter noted within the last four weeks that the old Lillie mine, located in the Cripple Creek district, has been purchased by the Vindicator Company.

The Old Lillie mine, located in the Cripple Creek district, has been purchased by the Vindicator company. The purchasing company has paid $5,000 on the purchase price, which is said to be $30,000, and the balance will be paid over when quit claim deeds are made out.
The Vindicator company will utilize the Lillie shaft, which is about 1,540 feet deep, for pumping purposes.

Vindicator.—According to a statement issued by this company, its net earning for the quarter ending July 1st amounted to $42,532.25. During the quarter ore valued at $127,675.43 was shipped, the freight and treatment charges on which amounted to $26,637.13, making the gross earnings for that period $101,038.30.
Operating expenses amounted to $52,342.88. This, with the general office expenses, etc., left a profit of $42,532.25.
An important deal was concluded recently by the company for the purchase of the old Lilly mine, which is adjacent to the Vindicator. The Lilly shaft will be used to drain the Vindicator territory when sinking is resumed in the main working shaft of the Vindicator.
The Lilly shaft is over 1,500 feet deep.

During 1906 the Vindicator Company erected a testing mill in the Old Lillie shaft house at Independence, and made extensive tests preparatory to erecting a large plant.

Popularity of Cyanidation.
The Vindicator Consolidated Gold Mining Co. is erecting a small mill, at the present time, in the Lillie shaft-house, which belongs to that company. Low-grade ores running from $4 to $10 per ton will be handled, as well as sulphide ores, for the treatment of which an Edwards roaster has been installed.

Three important discoveries have been made by the Vindicator company during the past two weeks, according to the statement by the general manager, George Stahl.
The first at the 1900-ft. level of No. 1 or main shaft of the Vindicator, is in ground south-east of the Lillie mine, formerly owned by the Lillie (C.C.) Gold Mining Co. of England, since defunct. The new vein is 10 ft. between walls, carries ore that will make screenings worth $30 per ton.
The second discovery was made at the 1700-ft. level of the Golden Cycle shaft, corresponding to the 1900-ft of Vindicator No. 1. The vein is believed to be the same, but the ore was found 500 ft. east of the original discovery.
The third orebody has been found on the 1400-ft. level, north of Vindicator No. 1 shaft, where one of the so-called 'townsite' veins, lying under the town of Independence, has been encountered, north-west of the shaft.
All three discoveries are in virgin ground, with no work above or below, or near to these points.
Vindicator shares have been active during the past week, and advanced 20 cents.

Vindicator Con. G. M. Co., main or No. 1 shaft, on Bull Hill, is now 1630 ft., and the Hull City shaft is down 1265 ft., while the Lillie shaft, at 1526 ft., has been abandoned.
