Logan in Rich Ore Close to the Gold Sovereign
Recent work in the Logan has proven that the Gold Sovereign has rich ore down to a depth of 1,000 feet. In an upper level the Logan drifted up to the line of the Sovereign on rich ore, and in the 1,000-foot level they are within 200 feet of the Sovereign line and in good ore.

John A. Logan Info
That the late Mr. Stratton had abundant faith in the future and believed in deep mining was evidenced by the amount of work he did on Bull and other hills.
An example is the John A. Logan shaft which is 1,400 feet deep, while the drifting and cross-cutting exceeds fifteen thousand feet by 330.

John A. Logan Sub-Lessees Hard at Work
There are but two sets of sub-lessees at present on the John A. Logan on Bull hill, and no work is being prosecuted by the Western Investment Co., who hold the lease.
Jones and Motchison, lessees on Block 221, will make a shipment of 30 tons soon. The ore is mined in the adit on the property about 800 ft. from the portal. Gold is found in a basalt vein about 2 ft. wide and assays $18 to $20 per ton.
Jones and Long, who are operating on Block 220½, loaded a car of ore recently that will assay about 1 oz. per ton. The ore is broken from an open cut about 15 ft. wide. A streak in the shoot carries $70 per ton, which, with other small stringers, brings the average to ¾ oz. per ton.
Considerable prospecting is being prosecuted by the lessees, and shipping is regular, about 8 cars being loaded out. A steam hoist will soon be installed on the lease, and with the added facilities for production heavier shipments will be made.
