      General notes:
Not much I can write here as info about this shaft on the Dead Pine Lode claim. This Shaft is not visible on the Plat Map of the claim, but that Plat Map dates back to having been approved July 27, 1892, with a 'Date of Amended Location Certificate' of May 20, 1892 given as Location Date, making this Shaft a later one.
graphic for visual presentation of text This Shaft is seen on the 1903ish USGS topomap, but it was not given an ID number on that map. The Shaft is however shown on the 'Principal Underground Workings' map which also came from the same source book; the 1906 Geology book about the District.
graphic for visual presentation of text I also have seen this Shaft show up in some images, with a connected ore house over a dump tunnel made in wood. In the 1906 Geology book the north old shaft, an incline shaft, is given to be 425 feet south of the north end of the claim. I assume this is the shaft seen in some images taken up around the Golden Circle trackage, even if I have a hard time understanding that the head frame seen in those images is for an incline shaft…
graphic for visual presentation of text The before mentioned 'Underground Workings' map also has an unnamed shaft marked in northwest corner of the claim, appearing to also be on the 1903ish topomap, but still to be identified at time of writing this April 7, 2024.
