Alamo Mining Co. Inquiry
Alamo Mining Co.
3506. (New Orleans, La.) I will thank you for an expression of opinion regarding the Alamo Mining Company. The stock is listed on the Colorado Springs exchange. The company own, I am told, 25 acres of patented ground on Gold Hill, adjoining the Anaconda property, and is said to be conservatively managed by very reliable men.
It is desired to know to what extent the property has been developed, and whether active work is being done by the company at present.
Ans.: We are informed that there are several shafts upon the property of this company, although none of great depth. There is one lease let on the entire property, but no shipments have been made from it, and the company is doing no work on the property on its own account.
The lessees have drifted about 60 feet, and are still prospecting. The stock is considered a fair speculation at from two to three cents, but it is not believed that the present price of five cents is justified by the present condition of the property.
