Jolly Jane Lesseee Encountered Vein
Jolly Jane.—This property is located south of Stratton's Independence, and is being operated under lease by Henry Nelson, who has encountered a four-foot vein at a depth of forty feet. This vein is reported to carry ore worth $100 a ton. Adjacent to the vein is a shaft that has been sunk in granite to a depth of 225 feet. The lessee will start a cross-cut from the bottom of this shaft to intersect the vein, which is an extension of the one in litigation between the Strong and Independence companies.
