Doctor-Jack Pot Mining Co. Inquiry
Doctor Jack Pot Mining Co.

7063. (Holyoke, Mass.) Is the Doctor Jack Pot at Cripple Creek mine, a good investment?

Ans.: The Doctor Jack Pot Mining Co. is a consolidation of numerous mining companies located on Raven Hill, and was brought about as a compromise to settle expensive pending litigation. The company's property consists of 50 acres of land, and comprises the;

Jack Pot, 10 acres

Lucky Corner, 22 acres

the Ingram, Mattie D, and parts of Jack G, Little Nellie and Wellington, 15 acres,

the Elizabeth Cooper, eight acres

the Doctor claim

and the Chief claim.

The company is capitalized with 3,000,000 shares, all of which with the exception of 100,000 shares are outstanding. The promoters of the company are said to have received 450,000 shares of the company's stock for their services.

It is said that all of the stock, with the exception of the promoters' holdings, is in escrow. When this escrow expires, the stock belonging to each company that went into the consolidation, will be turned over to the directors of each of the several companies.

The company pays monthly dividends of 1 cent, thus distributing $29,000. It is said that the company has $300,000 in its treasury. The management is in good hands, but the actual success of the company has not been quite as good as was hoped for.

This has been due largely to the fact that the lower workings of the property have been filled with water, and has resulted in the management's ordering a pumping plant to handle the water, which is expected to be completed within three months.

The reports of this water in the property caused the recent selling movement in the stock, and caused it to decline to 56 cents per share. It is now quoted around 62 cents, and is favorably regarded as an investment stock.

Doctor-Jack Pot Consolidated Gold Mining Co. Happenings
Doctor-Jack Pot Consolidated Gold Mining Company.—This company organized under the laws of Wyoming, is the outcome of a most important consolidation. The claims owned are the Doctor, Jack Pot, Chief, Elizabeth Cooper, Ingham, Mattie D., and Lucky Corner.
A number of these claims were involved in such a tangle of litigation that the prospect of ever arriving at a settlement and leaving anything to the stockholders was very slight. Now the mines will be able to begin producing at once. The directors of the new company are:
- President, A. E. Carleton;
- vice-president, J. A. Hayes;
- treasurer, J. H. Hobbs;
- secretary, F. M. Woods;
- F. W. Ether will be the assistant secretary and treasurer.
The apportionment of stock is as follows:
| Old Company |
Shares |
| Jack Pot |
875,000 |
| Ingham Company |
375,000 |
| Nugget Company |
300,000 |
| Magnet Rock Company |

| Doctor and Chief lessees, and to pay the expense of incorporation and promotion |
875,000 |
| treasury of the company |
100,000 |
|
|
| Total |
2,550,000 |
Part of the 875,000 shares and funds realized from the sale of the remaining 450,000 shares went to the owners of the Doctor and Chief claims. The Jack Pot, Nugget, and Ingham companies will retain their organizations.
The Nugget has declared a dividend and it is likely that the Ingham and Jack Pot will. F. M. Woods is general manager. Work will be carried on through the Morning Glory shaft.
