Cripple Creek.—The new cyanide mill on Raven hill, built by the Blue Flag Gold Mining Co., is making its initial runs. Its capacity is 50 tons a day.
A new double hoisting engine has been placed in the Blue Flag shaft house and other improvements added to make certain that all grades of ore can be profitably handled.

The cyanide mill of the Blue Flag Co., on the company's estate on Raven hill, is in operation and treating about 40 tons daily of oxidized ores from a large new body opened. It runs about $4 per ton. The company is carrying on extensive development.

Tests on Blue Flag ore at the plant of the Denver Engineering Works have proved satisfactory, and a flotation unit will be installed at the mill on Raven hill, to be running by the end of September. Equipment has been ordered.
Development at the 1200 and 1400-ft. levels is reported to be encouraging both as to the quantity and grade of ore under development.

The Blue Flag company owns property in the Patagonia mountains, Arizona, and following the recent development on the World's Fair group, immediately adjoining, the lease and option to purchase the Blue Flag group has been cancelled. The Arizona property is to be operated on company account.

Drifting east toward the Cresson, the Blue Flag Gold Mining Co. is prospecting toward the Cresson with promise of soon entering a richer zone. The vein as now broken is a low-grade mill product.
The Blue Flag is equipped with a milling plant not in operation at this time. Owing to poor ventilation during the recent heavy snow storms, work in the 1400 and 1200-ft. levels has been temporarily discontinued and is confined to the 800-ft. level.

Operations have been resumed by the War Eagle Consolidated Mines Co. from the 1100-ft. level of the Blue Flag-Silverton shaft. A contract has been let for extension of the lateral to a point directly under the Scott or main shaft, when connection will be made by raising.
The Moffat tunnel, connecting with the Blue Flag workings, is to be extended north-east through the Sheriff, thence to the Amanda and War Eagle.
A cross-cut will also be carried from the Blue Flag through the Bogart and Happy Year holdings of the War Eagle company.
Tully Scott of the Colorado Supreme Court is president of the War Eagle company.
