Cripple Creek, Colorado.
Successful Leasing.
Ore is being shipped from the Fairview property, block 102 of the Stratton Estate, to the Golden Cycle mill at Colorado City. The first shipment ran $17 per ton, the ore being obtained from the 600-ft. level of the mine. Operations are being carried on through the Chicago & Cripple Creek adit, the workings being 2,000 ft. from the entrance. Raising is in progress on the vein, which averages 4 ft. wide, and better returns are expected from the next shipment.

Cripple Creek—A gradual improvement in the grade of ore is becoming noticeable in block 102 of the Stratton estate on Globe hill and returns of almost $40 to the ton are being obtained.
The vein is better than 3 ft. wide, and is being worked at a depth of 400 feet. Selig and Mills, leasing on the property, are conducting operations through the Chicago and Cripple Creek tunnel.
