The management of the Aztec Gold Mining Company, operating a group of claims on Mineral hill, are sinking their shaft to a depth of 200 feet, where it is expected a good vein of commercial rock will be encountered. They are sinking on a vein which gives values of from $6 to $25 per ton, and it is thought that with depth these values will largely increase.

Grading and excavating has been started on the May Queen, located in the saddle between Mineral and Carbonate hills, for the foundation of a large shaft house to be erected at once.
