Manager Jolly, on the Ettessa at Goldfield, reports a nice-looking vein in the bottom of his shaft at only 35 feet.

The claim is owned by the Squaw Gulch Gold Mining company and is under lease and bond to Bilbo and others.

Ettessa Sinking
THE ETASSA.

The Squaw Gulch Gold Mining Co. is sinking a shaft on the Etassa claim, situated on the Goldfield townsite. Its present depth is 75 feet.

Eastern people are leasing this claim, and have also sunk a shaft to a depth of about 100 feet. They have just completed the erection of a shaft house and blacksmith shop.

Mr. Nat Davis Lost Hand in Ettessa Shaft Yesterday
ACCIDENT ON ETTESSEETTESSA.—At noon yesterday an accident occurred in the EttesseEttessa shaft on the north slope of Big Bull, which resulted in Nat Davis, one of the miners, loosing a hand and sustaining severe internal injuries. The catastrophy was the result of a missed shot and there were three men in the shaft with Davis at the time, none of whom were hurt.
Davis' left hand was blown off at the wrist. He resides at No. 532 Bennett avenue, this city, and was removed to the Sister's hospital.
