      General notes:
Plat Map shows a claim with a acreage of 0.684, which has two sort of large parts—one in north end with a Shaft that seems to fit somewhat with a shaft marking on the 1903ish USGS topo-map, and one part in south where the Discovery Cut is located. In addition, there are two tiny triangular parts south of the north part, but north of the Midland Terminal mainline.
graphic for visual presentation of text The south part is an odd shaped 9-corner-shape, just above the Short Line branchline passing the Theresa going to the Eagle Sampler. On the 1903ish map there is a Prospect Hole marking which is covered in this area, but it is too far off the Discovery Cut so I do not think that Cut is marked at all, but it is hard to tell as that 1903ish topo-map is very hard to fit perfectly into the other type of map showings I use to navigate with.
graphic for visual presentation of text I have seen a January 1901 Book giving the acreage on this claim even lower than what the Plat Map state it to be, and being I've read the BLM site is missing info, I suspect there is an Amended Map I have not seen, as the lower acreage size is from a Jan. 1901 Book listing companies and their properties.
