Info Title:
Solar Mining and Leasing Co. Secured Bond & Lease on Mineral Hill

Colorado Springs, Col., Mar. 3.—The Solar Mining Company, of recent incorporation, has secured a bond and lease on the OllieOlie Placer and Last Chance* lodes., located on Mineral Hill, and has opened up a remarkably body ore.

The bond on the Ollie Placer calls for the sum of $75,000, while for that on the Last Chance the sum of $30,000 is promised. The lease runs for 18 months.

The operators have been interested in Mineral Hill for a number of years, always believing that it would yet give up a producer. They opened the present body of ore at a depth of 30 feet from surface where the vein has been proved up for a width of 15 feet, returning overage values of $10 to the ton for the entire body of ore.

The lessees believe positively that they have found the source of the placer gold that has from time to time been panned in this neighborhood, and are highly elated over the present condition.

This find, together with that recently made on Copper Mountain on the Buckeye property means much to Cripple Creek, as this territory is located contiguous to the city. A considerable amount of activity is noticed in this section and all the mines make their homes in that city.

* I know of no Last Chance Lode claims on Mineral Hill, but bordering against the Olie Placer claim there is a Last Claim lode claim, so personally I suspect it is that one this info is about.

Notes/Text been Edited:
Corrected spelling of Placer claim and added note about possible name error in lode claim
