Trachyte Mountain Hopes in Long Tunnel From East
Outside properties in the Cripple Creek district are still claiming the attention of mining men, and the boundaries of the producing area of the camp are being gradually extended.
Some New York capitalists are driving a tunnel from the east side of Trachyte mountain, which is some five miles northeast of the Cripple Creek district proper. The bore has already been extended a distance of 1200 feet. It is the belief of the men interested that they will come into some good ore when they get under the summit of the mountain.
A fine outcrop appears at the crest of the mountain and the tunnel is being driven to get the vein at depth.
