graphic for visual presentation of text Ans.: This company owns five patented claims, of which four are on Mt. Pisgah, Cripple Creek, and one at Balfour, Colo. The claims on Mt. Pisgah were worked by the company to a depth of nearly 200 feet, and considerable drifting was done, and while assays were found all the way down, the management was not successful in locating a body of ore.
graphic for visual presentation of text The mine was accordingly shut down, and the company is doing no work now because it has no money. The machinery which it owned on its Mt. Pisgah property has been sold. We understand that there is not a paying mine within two miles of the property, and the outlook is not very promising for the company unless a rich strike should be made in the vicinity, in which case the company might be able to obtain enough money to work its property further.
graphic for visual presentation of text The claim at Balfour was also worked by the company, and some $10,000 or more, we understand, was spent, but no ore was ever found, and work was also discontinued on that property. The company is under no expense now.
graphic for visual presentation of text The treasurer is Geo. F. Clough, who makes his headquarters with E. C. Davis & Co., 244 Washington street, Boston. The capital of the company is $1,000,000, divided into 1,000,000 shares of $1 each. These shares are non-assessable and were put on the market at from 10 cents upwards. The property was paid for in stock. There is no money in the treasury.
graphic for visual presentation of text We understand that an offer of $10,000 for the property was refused by the company last June. The property on Mt. Pisgah consists of 40 acres and is located about 2½ miles northwest of the town of Cripple Creek.
