'Round About Gillett.

High grade ore and sylvanite ore is found nearer the surface near Gillett than in any other part of the Cripple Creek district. Visitors should not fail to see the mines and prospects in this part of the camp. A characteristic of all the veins in the granite is that they improve in richness with depth and this is one of the big inducements to purchasers.
The King of Diamonds will ship today. A large body of ore in a vein three feet wide has been opened that runs $80 to the ton. A new whim is being put up.

This mine, three miles north of Cripple Creek, has recently been equipped with a horse whim. The shaft has been sunk 90 ft. vertically on the vein, and from the bottom of the shaft a crosscut east was extended 25 ft. when a second vein was encountered 5 ft. wide, which assays close to $20 per ton, and which, without sorting, is being hauled to the Brodie Cyanide Mill.
Now the old or main vein will also be developed by drifting north. This property is being worked under lease.
