Photo by William Edward Hook About 9 miles from Colorado Springs. Altitude, 7,700 feet. The bridge separates the upper and lower falls, and a good view of both is obtained from the train as it circles around North Cheyenne Canon. The foaming water tumbles and splashes in its descent of more than a thousand feet over the solid granite to reach an outlet in the North Cheyenne creek. A natural fountain near the bottom is produced by a cavity in the rock into which the water plunges and is forced upwards several feet. |
