This prospectus is in a tiny size, just below 9x14 centimeters, but is readable and in good shape. Sadly, no date given, but text talks about the year 1899 production as if it has not happen yet, making dating this paper to sometime in 1899. Paper is stapled together and has a total of 14-pages but uses only page numbers from 2-8. Not all pages has info, only 10 pages can be said to have anything of value, rest is empty space or backsides.
The album consist of scanned pages of this Prospectus for The Sutherland Mining Company, and while it claims to be in the Cripple Creek District, this is a false indication, as it was located around Crystal Park near Manitou Springs, east of Pike's Peak whereas the District is West of the same! There are no images, only texts crafted to sell a vision, and a map to show the ground held.
BUT, using modern 2022 searches on Internet I have not been able to find anything Mineral related to the area, and I found no Patent linked to the company name so it indicates this might have been a Scam type of Company, or at least a misleading/false one!
But still, it is a historic document, so, Enjoy this little glimpse back into history! Also, if you ever feel for donate something to help me run this site, you find a PayPal button under the Help Me Section...
