Clara D. with Important Discovery
AN ENORMOUSLY RICH FIND IN THE CLARA D
graphic for visual presentation of text——————
graphic for visual presentation of textThe Property is Owned by the Lexington Company
graphic for visual presentation of text——————
graphic for visual presentation of textWILL BE A DIVIDEND PAYER.
graphic for visual presentation of text News of an important discovery in the Clara D., on Gold hill, that will shortly make a dividend payer out of the Lexington, leaked out yesterday. Some days ago in the level at 158 feet, some 70 feet from the shaft a narrow vein widened out to three feet, half of which is rock that will average anywhere from 40 to 50 ounces in gold to the ton.
graphic for visual presentation of text The moment it was found, work was started for it at the 190-foot level, and here it was found as strong and rich as above. In each level it has been drifted on for 12 feet, and it appears to improve with every shot.
graphic for visual presentation of text This vein is the extension of the Maloney vein on the Anchoria Leland and in the chute found on that property it did not take long to extract $100,000 worth of ore.
graphic for visual presentation of text
graphic for visual presentation of text Here is one case where lessees missed a fortune. When Horner and Black worked the property General Manager J. S. Jones begged them to drive the drift that he has since, and offered to pay them $4 a foot for the work if they would only comply with his request and this they refused to do.
graphic for visual presentation of text If the present showing on the Clara D. holds out for a fortnight it will mean that the Lexington will become a dividend payer.
