Mountain Monarch Strike Made and Lease Changed Owners
Denver.—A great strike has just been made in the Mountain Monarch mine owned by the Roxana company but operated under a lease by David H. Moffat and associates. The property is located on Raven hill, Cripple Creek district.
It is understood that the lessees have broken into the rich Little Clara vein, assays showing $600 per ton in gold. The full strength of the shoot is not yet ascertained. The Little Clara has been for the past year one of the most profitable mines in the district and is a part of the Work Company's large holdings. During the past week the lease was formally transferred to a company composed of A. E. Humphries, Harold D. Thompson and S. M. Eckman.
The royalties run as high as 60 per cent.
