Wm. C. Harrington to Edwin S. Giles, assignment—Dated Oct 29, ‘95, consideration $1.00; 1-16 interest in the Elizabeth Cooper mine at Cripple Creek.

Preliminary negotiations were completed in this city yesterday, says the Denver Republican, for the purchase of the Katherine, the Elizabeth Cooper and the Charles B. lodes, owned by the Nugget Mining and Milling company, and located in the Cripple Creek district. The purchase are New York parties, who are on the ground.
It could not be ascertained what the consideration of the sale amounted to, but it is believed to be close to $100,000. The Elizabeth Cooper has been leased and bonded for $75,000 to May 1.
The Katherine is considered the best property, and is at present a good shipper. This mine has a handsome small vein which improves with depth. The shaft is down 325 feet. These two properties, comprising eighteen and one-half acres patented, are located on Raven hill. The Charles B. is on Grouse and is a prospect claim of seven acres.
The Nugget Mining and Milling company is capitalized at $1,000,000. George L. Keener is president and M. S. Heming secretary.

WENT THROUGH THE PROPERTIES.
J. F. Vaile and H. McAllister, two of the attorney's of the Nugget company, arrived in the city yesterday and spent most of the day on Raven hill, going through the properties, that will commence to-day to battle in the courts for the rights of the rich vein on that hill.

Smith and Altman, leasing on the Elizabeth Copper claim of the Doctor-Jack Pot territory, have found rich $1,500 per ton copper ore in a six-inch-wide vein.

The lessees on a portion of the Doctor-Jack Pot property on Raven Hill last week marketed a car of ore which returned them $2300.
Sixteen sets of lessees are at work on the Doctor property, and the majority of them are making considerable money.

Elizabeth Cooper—Lessees operating on this claim, belonging to the Doctor-Jack Pot Company, are breaking ore from a shoot which so far shows a length of twenty feet and is five feet wide.
It has been opened up at the 125 and 400 levels, so that it is apparent that a large stoping area is available.

Cripple Creek.—Smith & Altman, working on the Elizabeth Cooper, are sending out the largest tonnage and perhaps the best ore. Their ore body is 5 ft. wide and gives values of about $50 to the ton. All told, there are about 15 sets of lessees on the property.
The monthly tonnage is 800 to 1,000 tons and the average grade better than $30.
