Gold Sovereign Mining and Tunnel Company.—At the annual meeting the following directors were elected: A, E. Carlton, E. C. Newcomb, G. F. Fry, W. A. Delaney, W. F. Rock, C. N. Miller and A. Rapp. The treasurer's report shows the company in fair condition, having nearly $14,000 in cash on hand, against $11,000 a year ago. During the year 758 tons of ore were shipped, on which the net smelter returns were $15,479, the royalties on this being $3,826. The general manager's report shows that the main shaft was sunk 100 ft. during the year, making it about 550 ft. deep.

Cripple Creek Gold Temple Mining Company.—The Gold Sovereign on GoldBull hill is operated by this company and as they have reached the 200-foot point sinking has been stopped. A contract for 120 feet of drifting has already been let. The leasing company is now shipping from forty to fifty tons a day.

It is expected, however, that when the 120 feet of drifting is completed that the company will be in shape to ship 150 tons per day. There is a large amount of ore broken in the different levels of this mine.
