Los Angeles Outputs Almost Ten Tons Daily
LOS ANGELES IS NOW SHIPPING PAY ORE

—————————

TEN TONS DAILY

—————————

Los Angeles Now Has a Body of Good Ore.

Reports from the Los Angeles mine, located on the saddle between Bull hill and Battle mountain, indicate that the property has come into a body of ore which will put that mine on a paying basis. The property is now being worked under lease by T. J. Moynahan and numerous sub-lessees.

Forty men are employed, and an output of about ten tons a day is being made. The grade averages $20 a ton.

The present depth is 330 feet, and work is now under way to put the shaft down another hundred feet, where a fourth level will be run on the vein.

The Los Angeles is in a choice location, and should be made a steady payer.

Los Angeles Report of Improvements
A report was received from camp today to the effect that an improvement of considerable importance had taken place in the fourth level of the workings of the Los Angeles mine. There is no information as to the value of the ore, although it is understood upon reliable information that the grade is much better than before.

This is likely to be the case as depth is reached in this mine.

Los Angeles is Expanding its Structures and Production
In addition to the eleven cars of ore shipped from the Los Angeles last week, there is about a half an acre of ground covered with ore waiting to be sorted. New and larger ore houses are being built as rapidly as possible.

A new shaft house is also being erected, and larger machinery is now on the ground ready to be installed. The new machinery consists of a 100-horse power electric hoist and a 6 drill compressor.

Los Angeles Workings
The only news from the camp is to the effect that Mr. Moynahan has confirmed the reported find made by diamond drill in the Los Angeles. From the end of the drift at the second level the drill was started and at a distance of about 180 feet it pierced an ore body of about six feet in width, the assay values of which showed it to be good for $30 to the ton.

A shaft has been started to prospect for this mineral. The main working shaft is to be deepened and it is probable that no more prospecting will be done until a greater depth is obtained.

The new electric hoist is now in use, hoisting ore for the different lessees on the property.

The new ore bins have been finished, and the work on the other surface improvements is rapidly nearing completion.
