Theresa Lessee Reports Rich Strike
Rich Strike in the Theresa.
A big strike has been reported on the Theresa on Bull hill which if true the lessee, J. C. Tatman is a millionaire. Tatman has been working this claim on a lease for sometime. He had ore from the start, but it was a very thin streak.
As he went down the streak gradually became wider and at a depth of 50 feet it was three inches wide. The ore was to all appearances very rich, and an assay last night showed that it ran 96,34 ounces in gold to the ton.
In other words a ton of this ore is worth $1,926.80. Development work to the full extent will begin at once.

The Theresa Strike Improving
——————
The recent strike on the Tatman lease on the Theresa is growing in importance with development. No attempt is yet being made to take out the ore. The shaft will be continued to a depth of 100 feet when levels will be run.
At the present depth of 75 feet a vein of ore has cut through the shaft on a dip, running about $200 to the ton. The other rich streak of ore encountered nearer the surface averages eight inches and assays as high as $2,000 to the ton.

Theresa Expect Regularly Shipments
Theresa.—This property is located on Bull hill. The main shaft has been sunk to a depth of 700 feet, at which point a station is being cut. A drift will be run from this station in a northwest direction. It is expected that the ore shoot from which good ore has been taken in the upper levels will be encountered in about 200 feet from the shaft.
From now on it is expected to ship regularly, but during the past month all the development done was in the nature of dead work.

Theresa Happenings
Theresa.—During the month of May lessee L. E. Hill shipped 500 tons of ore from this property on Bull hill, the ore giving returns of about one ounce to the ton. The fact that a damage suit is pending between the Theresa and Golden Cycle companies has caused a large amount of apex work to be done, and this, with the large amount of development work in progress, caused a curtailment in the shipping.
It is stated that present indications show little prospect of an amicable settlement between the two companies.

Theresa Bought by John T. Milliken of the Golden Cycle Co.
Subsequent developments after the transfer of control of the stock of the Independence Consolidated G. M. Co. to John T. Milliken, president of the Golden Cycle Mining Company indicate that the Golden Cycle company has inaugurated a campaign of expansion, as President Milliken has since purchased the Theresa claim on the east slope of Bull hill, in the Cripple Creek district.
The consummation of this latter deal will bring to an end litigation of long standing.

Theresa Mine Got New Hoist
New Hoist on the Theresa.
A new hoist has been installed at the Theresa mine of the Golden Cycle Co., on Bull hill. The output of the Theresa up to the present time has been hoisted through the Cycle shaft, which, together with the production of the latter mine, was more than that shaft could conveniently handle.
The shaft on the Theresa will be sunk from its present depth of 1,000 ft. to connect with the raises being made from the 1,200-ft. level of the Golden Cycle. A large orebody discovered at this depth in both properties will be energetically worked to keep up a production of 4,000 tons per month.

Golden Cycle Gold Mining and Milling Co. Sold Property Report
GOLDEN CYCLE MINE SOLD.
Englishmen Reported to Have Bought Cripple Creek Property for $7,000,000.
Special to New York Times.
Colorado Springs, Col., Jan. 15.—The Golden Cycle Gold Mining and Milling Company's property at Cripple Creek has been sold, according to reports to a syndicate of English capitalists.
The consideration is placed at $4.50 a share, or $7,000,000.
The company's main office is in St. Louis, where President John T. Milliken and other officers live.
General Manager McGarry of Colorado Springs admits that the mine has been examined a second time for Englishmen, Verner Z. Reed, now of France, who sold Stratton's Independence mine to Londoners for $10,000,000, probably made the Golden Cycle sale.
The properties include the Golden Cycle and the Theresa Mines, a cyanide and a chlorination mill, and 400 acres of coal lands near Colorado Springs.
The chlorination mill is treating two-fifths of Cripple Creek's $1,250,000 monthly output.
Besides the two mines named, the company's holdings include control of other mining companies, comprising in all 400 acres of mines.
