Raven Mine Owners Refused Injunction
Judge Hallett's Views.
Saturday morning the owners of the Raven property at Cripple Creek applied to Judge Hallett at Denver for an injunction against the striking miners to prevent them from in any way interfering with the mines.
Judge Hallett refused the injunction. His opinion closed as follows:
"I must say that it is my opinion that the peace and good order of society in this state is committed entirely by the constitution of the United States and by the constitution of this state to the authority of the state.
If the government of the state has fallen into the hands of socialists as it certainly has, or of imbeciles, as is probably true, that is our misfortune, but we do not thereby acquire the right to assume control of affairs on the part of the federal government."

Raven Mine Happenings
The Cripple Creek correspondent of the Rocky Mountain News writes his paper as follows.
The Raven Mining company, with properties on Raven hill, is preparing for a more vigorous working of its claims than ever before. A main working shaft has been started among the little nest of holes that were sunk by lessees last year that is to be put down 800 feet, at which point it will connect with the tunnel, which is being put in from Squaw gulch by the Raven Tunnel company. The stockholders are almost identical with those of the Raven Mining company.
The tunnel is in at present about 700 feet, and has recently been put in first-class shape. To-day a contract was let to extend it an additional 200 feet, but the works must be completed within thirty days from date which is very rapid driving. Machine drills are being used.
Before the bore will reach the point where the shaft is being sunk it will have a total length of a trifle more than 1,500 feet. The new find of high grade ore is turning out even better than was expected.
Returns from the smelters show that in carload lots it averages, without sorting, better than $1,100 net. One car of high grade is now being saved that assays better than fifty ounces.

Doctor-Jackpot Group Lessees Oldham and Associates Shipment
Cripple Creek—Oldham and associates, who recently secured a lease on the north block of the Doctor-Jack Pot on Raven hill, recently made another shipment of ore to a local sampler.
The consignment consisted of 20 tons, which will average not less than $30 to the ton. The lessees are working at a depth of 700 ft. and are conducting operations through the Raven hill tunnel.
The ore shoot does not show much of a width at present but has the appearance of increasing in size with greater depth.
