The Ruby mine is one of the active places on the south slope of Bull hill. About thirty men are employed and the output is nearly ten tons per day. The vein is a strong one and averages about $70 to the ton in a car load lots.
The shaft is now down 270 feet and work has begun on the fifth level.

Cripple Creek—A rich strike of a vein over 3 ft. wide is reported to have been made at a depth of 1,215 ft. on the Ruby property on Bull hill operated by the Ruby Mining & Leasing Co. The strike was at the bottom of a winze from the 900 level. The values are said to average $62 for the entire width of the vein.

It may be that the No. 2 shaft of the Last Dollar claim on Bull hill will be started up within two weeks by the Humphries Thompson syndicate, which has taken a lease on this property, but this is yet to be decided upon and it will not be determined until new developments in the Ruby are worked warrant the erection of a moderate sized milling plant.
