Vindicator Doing Great
The management of the Vindicator Company, on Bull Hill, is now breaking ore in the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth levels. The eleventh and twelfth are still under water. It was learned to-day that the company has enough ore in sight to keep them busy shipping at their usual rate for two years at least. This is remarkable when it is taken into consideration that six new ore shoots have been opened up in various levels during the last few months.

Vindicator Mine Stuff in 1908
The Vindicator mine has been one of the large producers of the camp and, at present, is worked almost entirely by lessees. Some of the richest ore found in Cripple Greek has been taken from this property, and many of the lessees have done exceptionally well. I consider it will be a steady shipper for many years yet, with possibilities of opening up additional orebodies under the leasing system. The main ore-shoots have been worked out, but much good territory remains undeveloped.
A steel shaft-house and head-frame 80 ft. high are being constructed at the No. 1 shaft, showing the company's confidence in the continued finding of ore.
At present they are making an average production of about 1600 tons per month, and four dividends, amounting to $45,000 each, have been paid since the first of the year.

The production from the Vindicator or September was close to 1,800 tons of ore. All of this was of good grade as it has been the policy of the company to refrain from mining any low grade rock for some time past. The production was not in excess of former months, but in value was much higher than heretofore. The Vindicator company has reached a position where very little if any change is made in the regular production. The same amount of development work is carried on each month.

Strike Situation Can Close the Vindicator Mine
The situation is somewhat improved, but not yet settled. A number of concessions have been made by both sides. At present it seems as though the strike at the Standard mill would be settled, as all the demands of the union men at the mill have been met with, except as to the reinstatement of some of the striking mill men. If the trouble is not settled very soon a number of mines will have to close from having no marked for their ore.
The Vindicator will close April 1, unless settlement is made.

Vindicator Mine Ore Findings
Information contained in a circular letter mailed stockholders under date of April 25 by the Vindicator Consolidated company gives following mine info:
The ore-shoot on the 19th level of the Vindicator was proved for 300 ft. on the Lillie vein, and continued to a height of 70 ft. above the level.
Drifting on the 20th level has disclosed ore of excellent grade, but "payable values exist apparently for a length of only 60 feet".
Development is continuing on this and four other levels in this virgin section, but none have yet reached the extension of the ore-shoot.

Vindicator Considering Extending the Roosevelt Drainage Tunnel
Extension of the Roosevelt drainage tunnel from its present terminal on the Portland estate to the Vindicator Con. Gold Mining Co.'s No. 2 shaft, a distance of approximately 3000 ft., is under consideration by the Vindicator directorate. The estimated cost is between $100,000 and $150,000.
Rich ore has recently been found in the Vindicator mine at a depth of 2000 ft., but the cost of raising water is heavy and eats up profits.

Vindicator Consolidated Co. Workings
The Vindicator Consolidated company is extending a lateral north-west from the 19th level of the Golden Cycle shaft, corresponding to what will be the 20th level of the Vindicator No. 2. The objective is the present terminal point of the Roosevelt deep-drainage tunnel, some 3000 ft. distant. Negotiations looking to extension of the tunnel are under way, but no agreement has as yet been reached.
The Vindicator is now raising water from the Golden Cycle, but with the tunnel-connection completed this heavy cost will be eliminated. Development of the rich shoot on the Lillie vein at the 2000-ft depth on the Vindicator continues from the Cycle cross-cut, and, with the raise through to the Vindicator shaft, sinking will be started in ore as the rich vein extends to the shaft station.
The extension of the tunnel rests with other companies owning property in the Bull Hill area, who are expected to contribute to the general cost, estimated at $80,000. The Vindicator company, however, will extend the deep lateral to its end-line at its own expense.
The Vindicator at the present time is draining the Bull Hill area, and it feels that property owners should contribute toward the tunnel extension through other than Vindicator holdings.

Vindicator Gets a Station at 2100 Feet
The Vindicator Consolidated Gold Mining Co. is now cutting a station at 2100 ft. at the Vindicator No. 2 or main shaft, preparatory to cross-cutting west to the Lillie vein, that should be penetrated at a point about 30 ft. west.
The vein dipped through the shaft in sinking the last lift; it carried high gold content. Twenty sets of lessees are operating in the upper levels of the Vindicator and Golden Cycle mines and the large majority are mining and shipping a good grade of ore.

Vindicator Lower Levels to Flood After Snowstorm
The lower levels of the Golden Cycle mine and the Vindicator mine will be flooded due to the 'drowning' of the electric pumps on the 1600-ft. level of the Golden Cycle mine and the steam pumps cannot used on account of shortage of fuel after the recent snowstorm.
A great deal of damage was done to the district, by covering all railroads and trails several feet deep, damage to transmission lines and telephones, blowing over smokestacks, and preventing ore shipments.
