Sierra Nevada Milling Grade Shipment
A new shipper for Battle mountain has developed in the Sierra Nevada, a fractional claim owned by the Crown Point Co., and worked under lease by Arthur Carnduff of Victor, who, operating from the 400-ft. level of the Mohican Co.'s shaft on the Mohican claim adjoining, has opened the northern extension of the Gold Coin vein, and is saving ore for shipment that assays as high as $100 per ton.
One shipment of milling grade ore has already been made.

Mohican Co. Stops Lessees From Shipping
Shipments of ore from the Mohican mine on Battle Mtn. have been stopped temporarily owing to litigation in which the Mohican company has brought action to restrain Anderson & Olsen, lessees, from operating the property. In view of an early settlement of the lawsuit, the lessees are now blocking out ore on the 700-ft. level near the shaft. The vein varies in width from 3 to 5 ft., the ore shipped averaging $25 per ton.

The work of installing a 10x14 hoist is progressing rapidly, and the machinery will be in operation within a few days.
