The Cripple Creek Mining District is located a little west for Colorado Springs (5989 feet.) in Colorado, USA. About 75 miles south of Denver. It is made up of 3 towns, Cripple Creek, Goldfield and Victor.
It used to be several smaller towns, but today I guess those above are the ones left.
The towns/cities/settlements/stations/depots included in my modeling projects are as following:
The Cripple Creek - Victor District:
In 1902-03 there was 20 communities in the Cripple Creek - Victor district, and the total population of the district was approximately 35675 people.
- Altman, including Midway, had a population of 1500
- Anaconda, including Mound City, 1000
- Cameron, 300
- Cripple Creek, 15000
- Elkton, including Arequa, Beacon, & Eclipse, 2500
- Gillett, 300
- Goldfield, 3500
- Independence, including Hull City, 1500
- Love, 75 (not really inside the District, but close enough)
- Victor, including Lawrence, Portland Station, Strong's Camp, and Hollywood, 10000
