→ I also updated the source file of the tidbits news found under Entities. Its a huge file so not function as I want but my coding skills are not good enough to make it function fast and easy.

→ I also noticed and fixed the showing of images under the Entity pages, as clearly I messed up there sometimes last year or so under a computer problem making my database export lack info and me not noticing that. Sorry about that!

04.02.2024

More small working on Pin's for the 1903ish USGS topographic map on my site, today some changes thanks to me working on some texts dating back to 1898 and then linking in a lode claim which again made me connect a name on the map;

→ I've corrected the Pin-marking location for ID 145; Advance Shaft/Mine.

→ Which is due to the finding and marking at same location the Discovery Shaft of the Mary Jane Lode claim, on Raven Hill.

→ I've also corrected the Pin-marking location for ID 137; Advance No.2 Shaft/Mine, thanks to the finding of the lode claim mentioned.

Today's addition to my Postcards Album page is a view Looking West on Bennett Avenue. a old printed type style in image part of postcard. I got it of a seller on eBay in March 2023, so not the slowest scan I've done. It was shipped through a US-friend so I got it in last part of October 2023, thanks my friend!

Slowly working on Pin's for the 1903ish USGS topographic map on my site I have these additions;

→ I been able to ID the Discovery Shaft and a second shaft workings for the Ide lode claim on more northwestern Big Bull Mountain up towards Victor Pass area.

→ Which prompted me to add another image from my collection, as that image in my local high-resolution scan at 1200dpi has structures at these shafts! Sadly for you, I only share my 300dpi scan, but I am working on close up shots linked to the various lodes.

→ On that mentioned photo, there is a foreground shaft showing, which is now marked with a pin to be a shaft on the Clyde Lode Claim.

→ Going from same image, and thinking, the Discovery Shaft of the Grace Darling Lode Claim is also visible.

→ I am also 99,9% certain I have ID a Shaft House marked on the Plat Map of the Republic Lode on Battle Mountain to be a marked shaft on the 1903ish topo-map, just uphill of the Eagle Sampler.

07.08.2023

Moved the pin for ID 169 on the 1903 USGS topographic map on my site so it is between the two markings on that map that indicates workings on the claims belonging to that mine operations. It was too far west earlier.

28.07.2023

Working on text research I found a shaft location on the 1903 USGS topographic map on my site that also fit so well that I am certain it is for the Discovery Shaft of the Angelus Lode, located on southwestern slope Squaw Mountain.

30.03.2023

Due to various reason I have during last few weeks worked somewhat with parts linked to the 1903 USGS topographic map on my site with some more places now marked out;

→ Added in a marking of the main working shaft on Rob Roy Lode claim on Gold Hill.

→ Added what I believe is the Discovery Shaft of the Little King Lode on Gold Hill.

→ Added the Discovery Shaft of the Sherman Lode on Gold Hill, just southwest of the Short Line loop in south Cripple Creek town.

→ Marked the working shaft on the Yellow Bird Lode claim, just southeast of Cripple Creek town and along the Short Line just as it approaches the bridge across Midland Terminal.

→ Marked the working shaft for the Red Bird Lode claim, also known as the National Mine, this shaft is in reality located on the Yellow Bird claim as far as I can tell from my maps, but on the border line almost. Neighbor to the Yellow Bird shaft, southeast of Cripple Creek town and along the Short Line just as it approaches the bridge across Midland Terminal.

→ Marked a shaft on the Sherman Lode on Gold Hill, just south of Cripple Creek town.

→ Marked a shaft on the Ella Lode claim on Raven Hill; what the Plat Map show as a Shaft house seems to fit quite well a marking for a prospect on the 1903 topo-map.

→ Added what I believe is the Discovery Shaft of the Golden Wedge Lode claim on Raven Hill.

→ Added, corrected pins marking out ID50; Worlds Fair Lode claim and mine on lower Gold Hill.

→ Marked another Shaft on the Caledonia on lower Gold Hill.

→ Added pins for two Shafts and a Prospect hole on the Lone Jack Lode claim on lower Gold Hill.

04.03.2023

Due to fixing some other stuff I have done some fixes to my pins on the 1903 USGS topographic map on my site for some Rosebud/Beacon Hill mines;

→ The Henry Adney Mine pin was at wrong location, so I fixed it, putting it on what appears as a Prospect type of shaft on the map!

→ Added the Discovery Shaft on the Buckeye Lode claim, part of the old Gold group. The Old Gold Tunnel is just northeast of this shaft, not visible on the topo-map though.

→ Added the Discovery Shaft on the Geneveve Lode claim, which is the one I used to have marked as the Henry Adney, but I now know that was wrong of me and I will also say partly the USGS people creating the numbering on the 1903 topo-map as the location of the number 332 is just wrong!

→ I also added in a non-visible shaft of the estimated location of the Old Gold Lode claim Discovery Shaft, in addition to put the main working shaft known as Old Gold where it is suppose to be based on the various maps I have access to.

→ I also added in the tunnel portal of what the USGS people called the Australia Tunnel on a map from their 1906 Report of the District, coming from the Australia Lode claim higher up on Beacon Hill with branches going to various places. I suspect this tunnel to have a different name though at the Portal area.

→ Lastly, I added in a Shaft on the Lonaconing Lode, this shows on some images I have seen.

03.03.2023

Today I uploaded another small not much interesting article from old texts, an text about Fuel Economy of Boiler Furnaces in C. C. District , giving a brief overview with some company mine names. Published in the September 22, 1906 issue of the Mining Reporter of Denver, pages 521->522.

01.03.2023

Due to a question from a friend I have had to do some fixes to my pins on the 1903 USGS topographic map on my site;

→ The Christmas Mine pin was at wrong location, fixed it and added several Shafts, including the Likely location of the Discovery Shaft.

→ The La Bella Mine marking is a north shaft of that lode claim, as the main or Discovery Shaft is more where the Golden Cycle Shaft is, but where the number on the map seems to point to, it can't be there as that is more the Christmas mine location.

→ Where the ID 236 seems to fit, and I had put the Christmas mine, that is more one of the shafts on the Vindicator Mine operations, so far only marked as a Vindicator No. 1 shaft as I have some lacks in the way I have things set up so I can't fix this easily, hopefully in a few years time I have a better setup.

26.02.2023

Today I uploaded another article from old texts, an text about the Present Milling Conditions in Cripple Creek District, giving a brief overview with some mill names. Published in the September 6, 1906 issue of the Mining Reporter of Denver, page 228.

20.02.2023

Yes, I made a full week of scanning a postcard each day! Today's addition to my Postcards Album page is a view from around 1910 by H. & H. Studio of the Findley surface structures and dump, on eastern slope of Bull Hill, with "Altman ridge" in background. I got this from the seller colocoll on eBay in March 2018.

→ This also made me create this Colored view of Findley Mine surface structures of the same card, twisted, scaled up & cropped a little.

19.02.2023

Yes, I made a sixth day scanning a postcard, and that envelope had 3 cards so it looks like I will make it to at least a week! Today's addition to my Postcards Album page is a view from around 1910 by H. & H. Studio of the Index Mine's surface structures, on lower Gold Hill, with a Short Line spur connected to the Low Line serving the Ore House in foreground. → This also made me create this Colored view Index Mine's surface structures of the same card, scaled up & cropped a little.

18.02.2023

Fifth day I've managed to scan a postcard, but it was more barely then I like, so I guess I am not ready for getting my routine back! 16.02.2023

Third day I've managed to scan a postcard, yes! Today's addition to my Postcards Album page is a view of the Portland Independence Mill, with the Stratton's Independence mine seen with exposed headframe sometime before July 1924 as that is the time this card was sent someone. I got it of a seller on eBay in August 2022.

15.02.2023

Yeah, second day I've managed to scan a postcard, yes! Today's addition to my Postcards Album page is a view of Battle Mountain Mines, taken from below the Stratton's Independence mine sometime before September 1919, looking towards Portland No. 2 mine. I got it of a seller on eBay in December 2021.

14.02.2023

I've managed to scan a postcard again, finally! Today's addition to my Postcards Album page is a view of a Bennett Avenue Snow Scene in December 1913. I got it of a seller on eBay in September 2021, so not the fastest scan I've done.

02.02.2023

Added to the 1903 USGS topographic map on my site;

→ The Discovery Shaft on the Ida May lode claim on Raven Hill.

→ The Main Working Shaft of the Blue Flag Mine on Raven Hill.

→ A most likely Working Shaft on the Brigadier lode claim on Raven Hill.

→ Fixed the name from the USGS 1903 topo-map for ID 193, as from all I can gather of info, this is the Discovery Shaft of the Blue Flag lode claim on Raven Hill, and not the Brigadier which the map had in its register; as those operations are further southwest!

→ Marked a most likely shaft on the Brigadier lode claim on Raven Hill.

→ Marked a secondary most likely shaft on the Kentucky Belle lode claim on Raven Hill.

→ Likely location of the Discovery Shaft on the Concepcion lode claim on Raven Hill.

→ Moved the marking for ID 196 unto the likely Working Shaft of the Red Umbrella Mine on Raven Hill, could also be the structure just south of my marking, very hard to find a definite answer here.

30.01.2023

Added to the 1903 USGS topographic map on my site;

→ Two shafts on the First Chance lode claim on Mineral hill.

→ The Discovery Shaft, which is also the working shaft with a shafthouse, on the Veteran lode claim on Mineral hill.

Done some changes on the showing of Entities on the 1903 USGS topographic map on my site;

Corrected the most likely location of the Discovery Shaft of the Monte Christo Lode on Beacon Hill as I got a better fit on my source maps. In addition, I added a shaft on the same lode as I have a image marked as Monte Cristo Mine which this is the most likely fit for.

Also added the most likely location of the Hummer Mine on Ironclad hill.

And, I found that the most likely location of the Discovery Shaft of the Hobo Lode on Guyot Hill was a neighbor structure from the one I had marked before, so I fixed that as well.

I've added in two shafts located on the Ajax lode {better known as Beacon Hill Ajax lode] on Beacon/Guyot Hills, both located on the slope of Guyot Hill.

11.01.2023

I added a article about the El Paso Mill, in Florence. While I originally shared this source many years ago under the Workshop part of my Virtual Section (but I still not have fully made a 3D model of it), I have now updated the scans used to be full size as scanned in 300dpi, and added it to my site as a article, leaving my original page intact for now. On my way with a rebuild of my site, moving away from the use of Microsoft Frontpage from my ancient Office 2000 software pack, using a modern tool like in my case Dreamweaver CS5.5.

Been a slow rebuild, learning new stuff and all that, but I hope by the end of it, I will have a better functional and easier to update site.

Below is my old news about this site, as I now rebuild it many of the links will stop function, so it is more a historic view then anything else. I will remove the links just to stop the confusion that might happen.
